[edit] Local Amenities
Just down the road is an off-licence and a party costume shop. Within 1/2 mile there is a Tesco Metro, a Co-op and a couple of corner stores. Leicester City Centre has all the usual city centre shops.
Down the road about 200 yards is a pub, a couple of convenience stores, with a post office, an offie BUT I didn’t see any cash machines. There is a cash machine in the post office shop and the pub opopsite (royal oak), although they both charge to withdraw money. Free cash machines are in Wigston Centre. ( 10-15 minute walk from the hotel).
0.9 Miles south further down the road is Wigston. This is a nice little town with a number of pubs including a Wetherspoons, a chippy, kebab shop, two cafes, a Subway, six banks (NatWest, Barclays, Nationwide, HSBC, Alliance & Leicester and Lloyds TSB), a Bargain Booze shop, a Somerfield and Sainsbury's and Iceland, a Boots and Gordon’s Pharmacy, a Wilkinson, 2 pound shops and over six charity shops. There wasn’t much restaurant-wise, just fast food
