| Named Organiser: LFF (Claire / Alison / Flick) |
As part of the LFF stuff that will be happening over the weekend, there will be an auction on Saturday evening.
It won't be a normal, boring kind of auction, though.
Throughout the weekend, you can visit the items available for auction on the Fannish Living Room and put bids on them as described on the LFF stuff page.
On Saturday evening, we will go through the bids and take all of the contested items into the auction. If there's something you particularly want, you'll need to go to the auction to check whether or not it is included (if it isn't, just come along after the auction and give us whatever you bid). Naturally, the audience of the auction will have until very nearly the last possible second to admire the items, wish that they had had the foresight to bid on them and then place a bid.
The actual auctioning will take place between Cabaret items.
Bidders on contested items will have to fight for them, in contests of, er, skill and intellect, such as:
- Tiddlywinks
- Twister
- being the first person to bring a round of drinks to the LFF
- being the first person to bring us a tomato
- being the first person to bring us a stocking, not being worn
- being the first person to bring us a copy of today's newspaper
- being the person who can juggle three balls the longest (we reserve the right to tickle people who are doing too well)
- getting the best audience reaction after composing and reciting a limerick on
the subject of X"
- being the most successful at humming one of the songs on a list until the audience gets it
Don't worry if you don't feel up to some of those things: we will be allowing you to nominate a 'champion' to compete for you. And if you decide that the best champion would be someone who's also bidding for the same item... well, you'll just have to negotiate a suitable bribe between yourselves!
What could be simpler?
