The Fannish lifestyle, and in particular convention behaviour, is notoriously unhealthy. Meetings almost invariably take place in pubs. Conventions encourage stuffing yourself with as much fried breakfast as you can manage and then heading for the bar and drinking until the small hours. Prizes are often alcoholic or chocolate. Even the activities that bring us all together - reading, watching TV, going to the cinema - are primarily sedentary. Is this something we should be addressing? Should convention organisers (which all Teledudes are now!) make sure the hotel provides healthy foods, or organise exercise-related programme items? Would anyone go? Would you eat salad and attend a group swimming session or will you be filling up on bacon and eggs until the bar opens?

Discuss.
