At the meeting were: Meike, Jess, Chris, Mark, Claire, Max, Tobes, Jim, Dougs, Ian
Hotel
We have no hotel yet. The three possibles found so far: Midland (not available until October 2007), Kegworth (not available until Sept 2007) and Beeches (not enough bedrooms) are not viable. Some discussions about dates e.g. Feb 2007 or even late 2006, but the consensus was summer 2007 is still the best. Other venues were discussed including those used by the Ploktacons: Chequers in Newbury, Hilton in Basingstoke, Holiday Inn in Leicester plus the Jurys Inn in Croydon. Dougs volunteered to build a list of possible venues in the south whilst Chris concentrated on the Midlands. Because we have no dates or hotel, it was discussed whether to take memberships at Eastercon. The concensus was yes. Non-refundable Pre-supporting Memberships for £10 including a Teledu badge and full memberships at £35 that will be refundable for 3 months after we annouce dates & venues.
Eastercon
Teledu needs to make a big splash at Eastercon. The aim of are activities will be
a) Make sure everyone has heard of Teledu
b) Make people go What The Fuck! i.e. Be wierd, strange and make people laugh.
Lots of posters with a wide variety of designs will be needed all over the hotel. Everyone is encougaged to produce their own designs and place them on the Wiki. Those people going to Eastercon, please print put twenty or more posters and take them along. Gangs of bill stickers will be require on the Friday and Saturday to plaster every corner, lift and cubicle of the hotel.
Teledu will have a sales table in the Dealers room selling T-shirts and memberships. We will be sharing space with Sproutlore, ZZ9 and Confounding Tales. Volunteers to help man the tables will be very much appriceated by all four tables.
Next Day of the Teledu
Next meeting on the 20th May 2006. Venue to be decided depending on hotel visits and the like.
As not everyone reads LJ regularly, Chris will set up an email list of big announcements.

After discussions among Croydon, the favoured pub is the Glamorgan (formerly Grouse and Claret) <http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub2725.html>. It's near the station. It used to be a 'local', but has recently been refurbished as a 'gastropub' and as such seems to have lost all custom. Always seems to be empty when I pass, so probably likely to be fairly quite on Saturday. Serves Harveys and Adnams.
Have spoken to a barmaid in the Glamorgan. They say there are no problems of a party of 10 or so coming in to eat on Saturday evening. Food seems to be of the sausages, fish, pie type at roughly £5-7.
They say that if you before going they will arrange a table for everyone.
