Thank you to everyone who came to the Day of the Teledu in Nottingham on Saturday and or the party afterwards. Special thanks to Doug for doing live updates on the Wiki as we spoke despite the unreliability of my network. Also a special mention to Mel for bringing samples of potential Beer of the Teledu to the party. Finally a special thanks with knobs on to Heidi and Pete for their services to extremely drunk people.
The day was a great success. We have the solid beginnings to a full and busy programme.
Shortly after the opening ceremony on Friday evening there is the MP3 Disco. Grab your MP3 player, set up you a playlist of your favorite disco tracks and take your turn as DJ. If you haven't got a MP3 player, find someone who has a get them to set up a playlist for you.
On the Saturday evening we have an evening of creative stupidity. A smorgasbord of cabaret, silly competitions and general nonsense. If you want to perform, show off or run part of the evening then add yourself to the wiki.
On a more intellectual level we have a Book Group and a Comic Group taking place at twelve noon, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Rather than having guests we would like to get some interesting speakers along to give talks and answer questions. Lots of fans have interesting jobs or hobbies outside fandom that we would like to hear about. Or if you know an expert or entertaining speaker that you would like to see at Teledu, let us know. I've set up a general Speakers page as a starting point for ideas.
With the launch of the final Harry Potter book on the Satuday of Teledu, there was some discussion on kids / young adult SF&F. These haven't yet condensed into a definite programme item about but ideas included a kid's book corner in the fannish living room, readings and a panel to plan the ultimate book collection for 3 to 18 year olds.
I have a variety of other notes scribbled down including Space Hoper Racing, Three Legged Twister, Fish Stomping, Fannish Ashes, Who's Closest to Idaho and Bubble Herding. I'm sure they made sense at the time.
Finally there are a few planned programme items that people want to run haven't yet got onto the schedule. If you are planning one of these, now is a good time to get it onto the programme grid. Pick your time and location then update the wiki directly or comment below and I will update it for you.
The next Day of the Teledu is on the 10th March in Croyden. It will also be mainly about the programme.

Location: Nottingham
Start Time: 2pm
Finish: Approx 5pm with a party in the evening
[edit] The Programme
The next Day of the Teledu will be focusing on turning ideas for programme items in to actual programme items.
So if you have an idea, whether it is just in your head or up on the wiki then come along. The idea is that we can discuss each item, through ideas around and get them up written up on the Wiki there and then*.
We will also discuss the bigger programme items that may be too large for one person to organize. I'm thinking of the Disco, Cabaret and Fannish Fete type items.
The DotT will start at 2pm and is taking place in Nottingham. The formal part will take about 3 hours and then in the evening there will be a party, informal chatting about Teledu and general silliness.
If you have ideas for programme items, want to help others run the items or just want to know what is involved in running an item, then this is the Day of the Teledu for you.
- Geek Note- I have a wireless LAN and broadband. Please bring along your unnecessary technology.
[edit] Party Party Party
The plan is a simple one. The formal part of the day will run between about 2pm and 5pm after which people can head out to the various restaurants that are in easy walking distance. Once sated, everyone heads back to the house via the off-licence and the party can get going.
The party is open to all the Teledudes even if you can't make it to the main part of the day. The official start time is 8pm.

[edit] B&Bs
All these B&Bs are about 10 to 15 minutes walk from my house. They are all clustered near to the train station and the Victoria Hotel, one of the best pubs in the country and where we will be having Sunday lunch.
