Actions cover anything that people want to happen or need to happen at Year of the Teledu but aren't programme items. They cover the organisational such as running Ops as well as the frivolous such as Fannish Living Room.

As with any part of Teledu, if you want to do something with the nuts and bolts of running a convention or to make something happen that will enliven everyone's experience at Teledu then dive in. You can create something new or help out with an existing action.

[edit] Updating An Existing Action

Go to the wiki page for the Action, click on the edit tab at the top of the page and make your changes. It is that easy. For more information on formatting see the wiki help page or have read of the cheatsheet.

[edit] How to create a new Action

1) Edit any page (including this one) and create a link to your programme item by entering

[[Replace This Text With The Title of Your Action]]

Now save the page

2) Click on the link to the new page. As its a new page you will be dropped into edit mode straight away.

3) Now paste in the action template tag. This allows us to index the actions and ensure there is a minimal of level of information on the Action.

Ideally you will add some basic information to the tag but this can wait until later. For each action we need:

• Organiser
• When
• Where
• Duration

e.g.

{{Actions|Organiser=Tregenza|When=Friday Evening|Where=Fannish Living Room|Duration=All Evening}}

4) Now add all the text you want to describe the action. Click on the Save at the bottom of the page to save your pages.

5) Go back to the page your editted in step 1 and tidy up by deleting the link to new page (assuming you don't want to leave a link there).

To avoid step 5, you can use the Preview option instead of Save during step 1.

Your Programme Item should now be listed below in the Action Index
