Be a small girl for an hour

Come along to Teledu's very own Brownie meeting. Badgers, we don't need no steenkin' badgers but we could have foxes, hedgehogs or squirrels. You'll be invited to take part in some silly "ice-breaker" games, and will work toward a brownie badge. You'll even be encouraged to make a cut out and keep "dress your own fan" doll. Orange squash and biscuits provided. Bring your own woggle.

Budget: £10, to cover orange juice and biscuit and ingredients for simple science experiments. May, though, charge subs in the spirit of guiding.
Age range: All. Children under 10 will need assistance from parents for science experiments.
Assistance: Can provide uniform items. Tlanti has volunteered for Snowy/Tawny duties.
Room: potential for mess if, *cough*, enthusiastic fans come along. Will require pre-registration to get right amount of equipment.

Ang, if you charged subs we could perhaps get some custom badges made -- eg this site has a minimum order of 50, and quotes £1.85ea for a 70mm badge with 80% embroidery. We would probably be entirely content with 50mm and 50% embroidery, and we could supply them with artwork. Though it also occurs to me that if you are anything like M's brownowl, then you have a vast quantity of assorted leftover supperannuated Brownie badges... perhaps you could use some of those? Are you allowed? PS Do you have a toadstool? - No. Toadstools left the brownie programme in 1968! [kayxh] not in our Brownie pack. We had a toadstool for years up until at least 1980, and it was used at every meeting for the closing song, and during enrolments. Well we only had the top of a toadstool - the base had disappeared. I also have a camp blanket which has some brownie badges on it, and old handbooks, and badge books. Oh yes, loads of Brownie packs still use them but it's not an official item. I think we had one but it met with an "accident" - Ang

I remember them being used in the late '80s. - Noel

I used to have a load of old badges somewhere but I think I might have given them so someone who was looking for them. I'll have to check.

I'll have a stack of blank newsprint for the ATC workshop, so you're welcome to steal it. Must remember to bring my camp blanket.... - Flick

Ang: how do you want chairs set up? None at all? Groups round tables? I'll need 8 tables set up with chairs set round based on the number of participants. Sign up list going up on Friday for cut-off Saturday lunchtime. I need to know how much equipment I need and may have to rush out for more.
